When you've selected a restaurant, please call ahead to book a table as opening dates and times change with the seasons (and sometimes the whim of the owners). Reception staff know many of the patrons and can book for you. Most of these restaurants are within 30 minutes or so of the Club. Websites often have sample menus and directions. |

Trout farm. Informal Bar open all day Menus from 15 € 10 mins drive Very handy for the club. Children love it as they (and their parents) can catch their own fish. It is then barbecued. Very easy-going place, charming Dutch owners. Turn left in Lamothe Timbergues. |

La Terrasse |
Gourmet French "We chose the Menu Regional at €38. The quality of the cooking, presentation and service were exeptional. Sometimes these lazy lunches can drag out for hours but the pace was just right. We allowed the maitre d' to chose a half bottle of wine which complemented the food very well. I don't normally bother with dessert but the Pruneaux in Cahors wine with a saffron Creme Brulee was magnifique! Janet had the tart of the day - again something so simple but beyond any home cook's ability. Total bill with aperitif, wine and coffee was €115 for two. Pricey but good value considering the quality and the superb location overlooking the Dordogne." |
Le Pont de L'Ouysse |
Gourmet French "Our favourite 'special occasion' restaurant. Set in beautiful surroundings next to the Ouysse shortly before it flows into the Dordogne. Michelen starred chef Daniel Chambon (a keen golfer and member of the Club) prepares fantastic food, the wine list is extensive and the service friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Most staff speak English. Becoming quite expensive but worth saving up for." |
| Chateau de la Treyne 05.65.27.60.60 46200 Lacave |
"In a chateau hanging over the Dordogne this is possibly the most elegant and certainly the most expensive restaurant in the area. Save up for a very special occasion. On the road to Lacave immediately after crossing the river." |
Relais Sainte-Anne
|
"Welcome discovery tucked away in one of Martel's back streets. Owned by a former chef at Chateau de la Treyne. Excellent food, friendly service." |
Hôtel-Restaurant Le Petit Relais
|
Directions: From Souillac, take the road to Rocomador and cross the one way bridge over the Dordogne river by Chateau de la Treyne. Take the first right turn past the entrance of the Chateau signposted CALES. Follow the road all the way to Cales. The restaurant is at the crossroad in the centre of Cales. "I had a lovely meal in Hôtel-Restaurant Le Petit Relais in Cales (on the road to Rocamadour) and particularly recommend the Pain perdu aux fruits rouges as a dessert, very very nice and different from what you can usually get. The whole meal was quite special and everything very nicely done and presented. Attached to a small hotel, the restaurant appears to be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, but probably in the off season it is better to telephone." |

Medium priced French Moira and I use a restaurant in Sarlat for lunch which we are happy to recommend as the food is good, as is the ambiance. The adjoining shop, same owners, is a specialist tea salon. |
Le Bistrot l'Octroi |
"Open all year. Great for lunch when shopping in Sarlat, even in the off season." |

Family "Delightful Belgian couple Christian and Jackie prepare local and Moroccan specialities. Friendly, informal atmosphere. Dine on the terrace overlooking the kitchen garden and small farm. Booking recommended as they sometimes serve during weekends out of season." |
Hôtel l'Esplanade |
Expensive French "We enjoyed an outstanding Sunday lunch here even though it was out of season. Family owned." |
