July began with 30mm of rain falling in less than an hour accompanied by high winds, lightning and thunder. Meanwhile, the Club welcomed 28 arrivals during its first big weekend of the season.
While guests settled into their lodges, roads were criss-crossed with ruts (click photo to enlarge). Branches came down but thankfully no trees - though some are missing bits of their summer foliage. A few lodges incurred superficial damage and one or two lost parasols (owners have been notified).
Most of the bunkers were washed out by the storm causing the Club to cancel the Championat du Lot as the course was not in a fit state to play. However greenkeeper Jerôme was up early Saturday morning blowing the greens and tees so that guests could play if they wished. Everyone on the team rallied round to help the first big Saturday go well. Our thanks to them all
While all that was going on, a number of ant and wasp nests were cleared from properties by specialist contractors. Notify Club management immediately if you discover a nest.
